Since I had the opportunity to shoot with Justin from Rich and Strange Photography back at Dragon Con 2016 with my make-it-work version 1 of Seventh Sister, it seems only appropriate that I have the chance to shoot with him again at Awesome Con 2017 in the final version. Look at how much better the armor is. Just look at it.
You know what’s nice? When a costume finally comes together the way you want it to. It may have taken me a little over a year but my Seventh Sister is finally done and 501st approved! It just took, you know, over a year and a crap set of hastily made armor first.
Seventh Sister: Bria
Thank you to Haythem of Lafhaj Studios for all of the rad pictures!
Seventh Sister has been on my costume list since we first saw her in the very first trailer for Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels. I loved her and her little seeker droids and how delightfully evil she is. It only made since that she’d be my first real villain with a helmet and everything. I was really glad that I was able to pull together Version 1 for Dragon Con and I can’t wait to start making upgrades, redo the armor, and hopefully have Version 2 ready to go sometime soon!
A huge thank you to Justin from Rich and Strange Photography for doing a quick shoot with me in a hallway in the depths of the basement and also to Jonathan Baker for a) holding my stuff/making sure I didn’t run into anything and b) taking some awesome pictures at Dragon Con 2016!
The helmet is by AtlisArmory and the rest of the costume was made by me. The Asajj Ventress in the one picture is the awesome Miss Sinister who I absolutely loved getting to pose with!
I’ve gotten into a habit over the last year of taking my costuming stress and frustration and making a dress to help make myself feel better. (Having a huge box of fabric helps with this.) The week before Star Wars Celebration back in April was no different. It worked out pretty damn good since, well, I kinda got to meet Dave Filoni because of this dress.
The awesome Justin of Rich and Strange Photography was kind enough to take time out of his Dragon Con to do a photoshoot with me between my panels. (Sidebar: I swear to God that this dress is like magic.) I couldn’t be more happy with how the pictures turned out and am thrilled that I can finally share them here!
