You see the problem with winter is that it is COLD which makes shooting outfits trickier than usual. Because it is cold. Literally the only good thing about cold is that it lets me break out scarves like this awesome x-wing pilot helmet inspired one.
But also I took these pictures are like 7:45am before work and it was cold.
Luke Skywalker X-Wing Helmet Scarf: Musterbrand
Red Sweater Dress: Max Studio
Khaki Jacket: Ralph Lauren
Sunglasses: Gucci
Brown Boots: Bandolino
Rebel Jewelry: BoxLunch
Disclaimer: Musterbrand sent me this scarf but only asked for my honest feedback in return.
I’m just going to buy all the pilot things. All of them. I may have a love affair with the First Order but x-wing pilots will always be my first love. And Musterbrand very conveniently keeps releasing more pieces inspired by them. RIP my wallet.
Pilot Sweater: Musterbrand
Galaxy Leggings: Black Milk
Necklace/Earrings: Nine West
Star Boots: The Fix/Amazon
This grey sweater continues in the grand Musterbrand tradition of putting forth nerdy items of clothing that don’t hit you in the face with how obviously nerdy they are. Honestly, that’s why I love them so much. They take inspiration from but do not copy the things you see on screen. The sweater pays homage to the flak vest worn by rebel pilots without copying and honestly, grey is a far easier color for me to wear than white. In my previous post about the Vader cape, I noted that the location of the rivet meant my hair got caught in it frequently. Thankfully, it’s placed on the side for this piece so that’s not an issue. At the same time though, I’m not entirely sure I love it there either? The sweater material is fairly thin and the rivet is definitely a lot heavier, feels a little odd there. Admittedly, this is a piece that I’m still working out the best way to style and the tie in the back did take a little trial and error but overall, I think I rather like it. It’s going to be a pretty versatile piece that I think will end up working for just about any season but summer.
(As a note, this tunic does fit a little looser so if you like things tighter, order a size down.)
- Box Lunch released a new line of Mulan themed items (timed with the Lunar New Year) and while they’re cute, my favorite of the bunch is definitely this mini backpack by Loungefly. The pattern is adorable!
- While Rock Love’s entire Black Panther jewelry line looks fantastic, my favorite piece is the talon earrings. Check out their entire collection though especially if you loved the film.
- Musterbrand is, as always, killing it with their Star Wars pieces and I couldn’t be more thrilled that they’re doing more Rebel pilot themed gear because Lin and I are both ride or die for the Rogues and Wraiths. (Be on the look out for an outfit post featuring the cape soon…) This sweater is a subtle nod to the flak vest but those who know will know. They’ve been teasing plenty of new designs on their social media recently so be sure to check those out.
- And finally, we’ve got one more Black Panther piece which really is only appropriate for the month. Her Universe’s Nakia inspired shirt is definitely the standout of their small line.
After last week’s jaunt into joke Wraith Squadron outfits and Her Universe’s exciting sneak peek of the upcoming Rogue Squadron hoodie tank, it looks like we’ve got some Star Wars going strong and X-Wing pilots locked on. So what better way to kick off Monday morning than a bright burst of X-Wing orange and Rebel Alliance gang signs.
