You know the drill: sometimes I stress out and make a Star Wars dress. I have a problem, I know. This was last year’s stress relief. I regret nothing because it’s comfy.
Oh and also it has pockets.
Stormtrooper Dress: Custom
Imperial Necklace/Earrings: Box Lunch
Stormtrooper Purse: Sent from Mars
Black Heels: Ralph Lauren
If you hadn’t seen it already, Kohl’s recently debuted a really neat Rogue One inspired collection. I swung by one of their stores a few weeks ago to check it out (and tweeted my experience with the entire collection) and ended up buying a few pieces. A holiday brunch was a great excuse to wear the jumpsuit for the first time!
Imperial Stars Jumpsuit: Kohl’s
Imperial Cog Necklace: The Colorful Geek
Silver Earrings: Ralph Lauren
Black Pumps: BCBG
While the Imperial Security Bureau Officer costume might not be the most exciting costume I’ve ever done, it’s an incredibly meaningful one for me as it’s the costume that finally got me admitted to the Garrison Tyranus of the 501st. Becoming an official part of my Garrison is something that I’ve been wanting for over a year now and I’m thrilled to finally be ID-27342.
Two days before I was approved, I was lucky enough to take part in an AWESOME photoshoot with the 501st. The incredible Haythem Lafhaj spent a few hours with us in a professional studio which gave us the opportunity to get not only some amazing pictures of our costumes but also to have a ton of fun. (You should absolutely check out his Instagram too.) You will also definitely be seeing more pictures from the shoot over the coming weeks.

If you’re like me, you grew up being a firm Rebel. It was all about the Rebel Alliance and the Jedi and the X-Wing pilots. APPARENTLY THOUGH, you should probably not wear an X-Wing hoodie to help volunteer with the 501st as you slide towards the dark side because them all of your friends will give you crap. And so I was inspired to make a dress that I could not only wear to work but that could double as Imperial chic especially for when I work the table or other events with my future garrison.
I made the dress back in the fall and wore it to the TFA premiere and all the pieces fell into place for me to wear it to Katsucon to work the 501st table the first day of the con! Thank you so much to the ever wonderful Rich and Strange Photography for taking this shot during one of my breaks wandering the convention.
Let me count the ways in which I adore the new cardigans from Her Universe! Pieces like this one are exactly what I’ve been hoping for since Her Universe started branching out from t-shirts and into more fashion-y items. I’ve been able to wear both of the cardigans to the office without objections from the higher-ups and with thumbs up of approval from my fellow office nerds.
Actually, I love this cardigan so much that you can probably expect to see me restyle it in the fall.
