Honestly… WHO LET US BE US?
Listen… we wish we had some sort of answer for why we do the things that we do but we don’t. We got these AMAZING Riders of Rohan inspired patches ages ago along with the matching vests and had had every intention of doing something cool with them and then we just… didn’t. Until a week before Katsucon this year when we went “heyyyyy we still have these things… SUNDAY PLANS!”
Just let us live in our ridiculousness and love of Tolkien.

We’re in the week leading up to Katsucon, an anime convention in National Harbor, MD (February 17-19), and we’re totally ready (not actually ready) to bring this. (Bria is ready. Lin is not.) But look for us in the following, and feel free to come up and say hello!
Basically all we needed to hear to get excited about a Kickstarter were the words ‘fashion’ and ‘comics’ so yeah. We are all about Couture. To quote from their page:
Couture is a collection of short comics inspired by iconic moments in fashion. Influenced by designers from Christian Dior to Hussein Chalayan, Couture’s short stories span romance, science fiction, historical drama, fantasy and horror, drawing from fashion that shook the runway and changed the face of haute couture. Written by Dani Colman and featuring art by 15 award-winning artists, Couture will be available as a handsome hardcover that is as much a piece of art as the stories within it.
The artists include Kevin Wada (!!!) and Jen Bartel and Marguerite Sauvage amongst others and we could not be more excited to see the finished product.
You can go back the project over on Kickstarter and reserve your copy now. (We already have!) They’ve also got some super neat backer levels with exclusives that you won’t be able to get anywhere else. We highly recommend it.
Whose side are we on? We don’t like to play favourites, so we’ll let you guess. (Spoilers: we absolutely play favourites.) But regardless of which punch-up we’ll be backing with our wild fashion dollars, you know we’re superhero hyped for Captain America: Civil War opening soon on the home turf. And what do we do for the things we love? We style it up all week, of course.
So salute the stars&stripes just one more time with us while we, as the saying goes, are up all night to get Bucky.

WELCOME TO HELL
WELCOME TO HELL
WELCOME TO HE–
Who would have thought that your esteemed editors’ house brand would be this winter (no) chill trash. (If you guessed Very Most Likely, you probably… okay, listen, first of all.) The point is, the point is, we took this immediately from Wears Black All Year Round to some kind of First Order emo punk band because that is also the house brand. Thank you and you’re welcome.
Lin made the patches and pins; Bria is mentally tallying every time someone doesn’t use a coaster.
