Ahhh yes. Our once staple feature that has somewhat fallen off over the last year or two. Of course, this is a bit more fashion than you’d ever see anyone on Tatooine wear but you can still get the vibe. (Especially with that Bottega Veneta skirt!)
From left to right: Valentino, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, and Bottega Veneta
When it comes to speculating what characters might wear from the runways of our world, it’s well established that I like to play favorites which means it’s time to take another look at Tenel Ka, Queen Mother of Hapes and Warrior of Dathomir. This time though, we’ll be looking at both sides of the
Dathomir’s aesthetic is very much informed by their culture of warrior clans. While no one would try and claim that any of the below looks by Burberry and Michael Kors are fitting for riding rancors, they definitely capture the feel of Dathomir.

Hapes, on the other hand, doesn’t embrace their hardcore warrior or snake skin side quite that much. Both this Versace and Zuhair Murad definitely give off a Hapan vibe with the fabric of the Zuhair Murad being something that would likely appeal to Tenel Ka.

While I recognize that this Versace isn’t something that Tenel Ka would jump at to wear, there are elements to it that I think would definitely fit with the Hapan look combined with Tenel Ka’s own preferences. In particular, I’m referring to the arm pieces and the hood and the skirt itself definitely reads Hapan.
For a bonus round, have this Valentino dress which I could see Tenel Ka wearing in a more casual Hapan setting that would still restrict her from dressing more Dathomiri.

The costumes in the Hunger Games are incredible visual treats especially once we arrive at the Capitol. One of the especially fun characters to watch on screen is Effie Trinket. From that first bright fuchsia dress to that pale pink brocade one to the one entirely covered in freaking butterflies, she never wears anything boring.
There’s a chance that the fashions of our world might not be able to keep up with Effie. She’s one of the few who would might have to tone down her style for our world. Let’s think of these more like ‘inspired by’ looks.
We’ll start with very three dimension dress by Alexandre Vauthier.
Next up, there’s this Zac Posen with a gorgeous fabric that would be right up her alley.
She’d totally adore this Chanel!
We’re flying straight back to Westeros and the nations beyond as we ask what yet another Game of Thrones character would wear from today’s high fashions! Today, we’re focusing on Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen; Khaleesi and Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and a heck of a lot of other titles I won’t repeat here because I’m not Ser Jorah.
Dany is one of the characters with a more varied look. We first see her as a princess in exile, then as a Khaleesi, and then Queen without a country who fights in whatever arena she must for her people. It’s resulted in us seeing her in many different fabrics and styles which means this post was fun to pull together without the limitations of colours and/or plunging necklines.
We’ll start with this effortlessly flowing dress by Zuhair Murad.
While we didn’t get to see the typical Qartheen gowns on the screen, this dress by Reem Acra certainly invokes the asymmetrical bare-breasted look that makes them so distinctive.
Of course, we can’t neglect her heritage as the heir to House Targaryen with these two looks by Vionnet and Valentino in its colours.

Us? Impatiently tapping our feet while we wait for it to be April so we can have a new season of Game of Thrones? And tragically lamenting the wait for The Winds of Winter? It’d be pointless to lie and say that we weren’t. That means that it’s time for another post where we ask what would one of the noble houses wear from our high fashion lines if they were a part of this universe.
This week, we’re taking a look at House Tyrell and especially at the Queen herself, Margaery Tyrell. Therefore, there’s going to be a lot of Tyrell green along with some Margaery blue and plunging necklines.
We’ll start with a simple green dress by Zac Posen
This next dress by Valentino is something that I could see a younger Margaery being attracted to especially given the colour.
And of course, what would a fashion post be for one of the most powerful houses in Westeros without a little Elie Saab in their signature colour?
