Macross Frontier is the series that completes me.
I still have so many feelings about this show that I can’t articulate so I’ll just funnel them all into elaborate stage concert combat outfits ha ha ha and here we are. This particular orange number is from the Macross F Music Clip Collection and continues the dubious tradition of a new outfit for every Katsucon — afterall, the upcoming blue-ray release has only added to the potential lineup, and we’re happy to oblige.
To my dismay, running out of time means it’s not quite as polished as it should be, but that just means a little bit more time and my Sheryl Nome and I can debut these properly!!
Want more Macross Frontier cosplay? We sent off Alto Saotome into battle for one last time in Sheryl and Ranka’s Sayonara no Tsubasa finale stage combat outfits at last year’s Katsucon!
What’s better than giant robot anime ruining your life? Why, this super rad fanzine. When I stumbled upon Jenny Zych‘s contribution in the form of Rei and Asuka rockin’ some mighty fine sukajan, it was like a perfect fashion high five for my street style sensibilities. Tight jeans and red may not be the language I speak, but for the pilot princess of my heart — well, all idiots kicked to the curb is the place where we meet.
(Thanks for nothing.)

It’s time to suit up. Taking cues from the black and blues of Mako Mori, but let’s kick this outfit to the streets — a little bit sharp for the last days of war, because the brightest and best puts a sword in both hands and dives right off the deep end.
As co-pilot of the Gipsy Danger mech in Pacific Rim, she wears the colours of war on her sleeve, and I went a little do-it-yourself with the pilot jacket motif. Chain sword running up the arms; kaiju kill count on the right breast; the vow of a swordmaker’s daughter on her back. The sword itself, though, is all her own.
