Any day is a good excuse for more Aphra pictures but it tends to be a really good day when you’ve recently been approved as the first Aphra in the 501st. (I actually got the news during this photoshoot!) Even better… I have a chance to take pictures with my friend and garrisonmate in his Darth Vader!

Thank you to Haythem of Lafhaj Studios for all of the rad pictures! There was a lot going on at the shoot and I’m happy that we were able to get these shots especially for the ones that were aiming to recreate panels!
Such as, you know, one of the early panels from the first volume of the Darth Vader comic.
“Can we stop with what I can only presume is crime lord flirting? No, I don’t want to see your enormous undercover operation.”
Whatever it is… it wasn’t Aphra’s fault.
Okay so here’s the thing: I know approximately one way to cope with nerd and convention related stress. That way is by making a cute dress. This was my answer to said stress before Dragon Con this year. (Shout out to the awesome TSA guy when I was on my way down to the con who asked if my dress was from the Disney Parks.) And also, because it’s me, I didn’t get to actually take pictures in this until very recently when I got to shoot with the wonderful Haythem Lafhaj!

While the Imperial Security Bureau Officer costume might not be the most exciting costume I’ve ever done, it’s an incredibly meaningful one for me as it’s the costume that finally got me admitted to the Garrison Tyranus of the 501st. Becoming an official part of my Garrison is something that I’ve been wanting for over a year now and I’m thrilled to finally be ID-27342.
Two days before I was approved, I was lucky enough to take part in an AWESOME photoshoot with the 501st. The incredible Haythem Lafhaj spent a few hours with us in a professional studio which gave us the opportunity to get not only some amazing pictures of our costumes but also to have a ton of fun. (You should absolutely check out his Instagram too.) You will also definitely be seeing more pictures from the shoot over the coming weeks.
