Turns out that I am, in fact, incapable of saying no to Mulan merchandise. I really don’t know where this street wear-ish style Bria came from but we’re just going to roll with it for now because I like being comfortable apparently. It’s okay: skinny pants and pencil skirt Bria will be back before you know it.

Okay seriously: how cool is it that Marvel introduced this alternate universe version of Gwen Stacy, the fans embraced her, and now she has her own series?

There are so many things that I love about Sabine Wren and while I already wrote about what a character like her means to me over at Tosche Station, I couldn’t resist putting together an outfit that was inspired by her. I wanted something that was comfortable and casual but still had a bit of kick to it along with a pop or two of color. (Every time I wear these tights from now on, I’ll feel like her just a little.)

Thank you also to the wonderful Heather of Zhobot for taking the pictures for me and thank you also to Disney for being kind enough to provide us with the Rebels hat!
I love that not only can you see what the back of the hat looks like in this picture but that Heather managed to get a shot with my Mandalorian nail art! It was something I experimented earlier in the week when I was taking a stress relief break from work. If there’s any interest, I can put together a tutorial for another post. It’s fairly easy to do if you’re using your dominant hand, even if you’re not artistically inclined!

We’re ridiculously pumped for new Star Wars on our screen so come spark a rebellion with us as we kick it Star Wars Rebels style all week long leading up to the official show premiere on Friday!
I can’t describe how thrilled I am that Her Universe has come out with non-form fitting skirts and this grey one with the Rebel Crest definitely went on my ‘to-buy’ list the minute I saw it on the release list for Star Wars Weekends. It’s a super cute skirt that has a lovely flow to it. I’m currently working on talking myself into wearing it/actually this outfit to work on Casual Friday this summer. I do suspect though that it would definitely be A-Okay for plenty of more casual offices not to mention perfect for school or just chilling this summer.
Thank you, as always, to Heather of Zhobot for the photography!

For sizing reference, Bria is about 5’7″ and is wearing a size Medium in the skirt. It runs a little bit on the smaller side and that’s mostly because of the white pencil skirt slip underneath it. I haven’t tried it yet but I suspect that the slip would be easy to cut slits in for a bit more freedom of movement and I’ve heard talk from other friends that they’re thinking of cutting the slip out entirely.

Oh, the outer senshi that we love so. It’s a modern miracle romance as we look to the princess grace of Sailor Neptune to get our class act together — with sailor sea teals and a touch of that big city je ne sais quoi, it’s a salute to her hip J.Crew catalogue of grown up school uni pleats and ladylike classics.
