Sometimes, there’s no point in even pretending to lie. This post is all about the jacket. Desigual excels at creating statement pieces and adding this to my wardrobe a few years ago was a thrill. I adore the patchwork of gorgeous fabrics and all the cool buttons they found to go with it.
It also just so happens that the Sorting Hat placed me in Slytherin so who am I to blow against the wind? An outfit post it is! Okay, it’s not that I’m evil. I’m just ambitious. And know what I want. I promise I’m not biased against Muggle-borns!
Green Jacket: Desigual
Grey Leggings: Express
Slouch Boots: Macy’s
Navy and silver and white seem to be in this season which is just begging for a Ravenclaw inspired post even if the Sorting Hat did put us both in Slytherin. And hey, we may be rather partial to black but we don’t discriminate against blue and navy. So check out some of the fashion pieces we found that gave off that Ravenclaw House vibe.
Well, you can’t keep us completely away from black so let’s start with this cute coat from Desigual!
I’d apologise for this next dress from ASOS but it is the most Ravenclaw thing I have ever stumbled upon that wasn’t a Hogwarts uniform. Navy, feathers, and lace? Yup. That’s So Ravenclaw.
Heading out to a fancy dress party for work? Maybe these two dresses from Little Mistress and River Island might fit the bill for something cute yet Ravenclaw.
Ravenclaws are know for their intelligence and their long hours in the library so let’s turn away from the parties and look for something a bit more suited for studying or perhaps even the office. First up is this adorable sweater dress from kate spade.
Or how about this jacket from Burberry?
I can never resist adding a little Elie Saab in here so check out this dress from his SS RTW 2013 collection. It’s probably not Hogwarts appropriate though. ;)
And just for the fun of it and to close us out, how about some kate spade accessories?
And that’s all folks! Find anything that you’d love to have make its way into your closet? Let us know! And also let us know if you’d like us to do some inspo posts for the other Houses. We’ll probably do Slytherin (duh) but if you’d like to see Gryffindor and Hufflepuff too, we’d certainly be game!
We’re clearly Team Fire Nation here at White Hot Room so it was only a matter of time before we put together an inspo post for our favourite Avatar kids. The Fire Nation has such great colours to draw inspiration from too. Red! Gold! Black! Oh wait, that’s also a list of some our favourite colours. No wonder we’re doing this post.
Let’s start with this Strapless Ombre Bandage Dress from Herve Leger and this Sheath Dress from BCBG. I’m betting Azula goes for the ombre and Mai goes for the colour blocked. They’re just such sharp dresses.
Ty Lee, however, would totally go for something way more fun and a bit out of the box like this cute dress from Desigual. Mai probably went shopping with her and convinced her that black was not a bad colour.
I could absolutely see one of the Fire Nation ladies rocking this Gold Bandage Top from Herve Leger beneath a red jacket or blazer. (We vote blazer.)
If Azula’s going to be the Fire Lord then she obviously needs a chic power suit. It’s all about the gold, darlings.
It probably gets cold in the Fire Nation occasionally, right? Or maybe Mai just needs a fabulous coat to keep her warm while she’s bored stiff in the Earth Kingdom colony. The fabric invokes the embers of a dying fire.
And of course, what’s a fashion inspo post without a little couture? Play us out, Elie Saab and Marchesa!
