It’s no secret that we adore Her Universe around here and therefore it’s only fitting that we take a moment today to celebrate their 5th Anniversary! This is a company that has done a TON for the geek ladies out there in such a short time and I am forever grateful that Ashley Eckstein took the initiative to start the company five years ago. My first piece was the red Padmé Nouveau t-shirt which I purchased at Dragon*Con 2010 and since then, I haven’t looked back. It’s amazing to me that not only can we geek girls now buy cute shirts to express our fandom but that we can also buy awesome things like cardigans, lightsaber skirts, and freaking X-Wing pilot dresses.
To celebrate the event, Her Universe is partying in style. 300 orders placed today will randomly receive a gift certificate valued between $5 and $500. The Star Wars Burnout Tee, ESB Poster Tee, and the Manga Hoodie are all being rereleased. Finally, there will be a livestream event running from about 10am to 5pm PST.
Below is just a selection of the many many many Her Universe products we’ve featured over the years. (And by selection, I mean the ones I happened to have pictures of on my phone.) Check out our Her Universe tag and see all of their cool pieces we’ve featured on the blog over the last three years. Do you have a favorite Her Universe piece? Sound off in the comments and tell us!
When in doubt, repeat after the Admiral and say loudly and proudly ‘So Say We All!’
Last month, I noticed that all of the Battlestar Galactica items were seriously on sale on Her Universe so it seemed like a great time to pick up one of the shirts I’d always wanted. (I might’ve picked up an extra of the red spine shirt too…) Regardless! This being White Hot Room, an outfit had to happen. I guess you should call this my take on geek chic with an edge.

Sometimes style doesn’t need to be all about the heels and the fabulous. It can just be casual and repping some of the geek things you love. It’s even better when you’re totally comfortable the entire time! I am officially a huge fan of this Battlestar Galactica sweatshirt from Her Universe because not only does it look cool but it’s one of the comfiest things I own!

Heads up folks! Her Universe is having a flash sale! From now through midnight Monday, there are tons of fabulous Her Universe pieces on sale! Plus, any order of $50 or more will get a free Tote Bag while supplies last! There are some super cute pieces in there and I know that I’ll definitely be checking it out as soon as I hit publish on this post. It’s not like I’ve been eyeing that BSG sweatshirt for months or anything…
No but seriously, folks: you need to check this out if you like Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, or Warehouse 13. You’ll be glad you did.
We all got the memo that Her Universe is totally awesome, right? I went a little more casual with today’s outfit because I just had to do a styling for their wonderful Battlestar Galactica inspired Cylon t-shirt. The outfit and pictures are slightly influenced by Number Six and also by Number Eight, since I am wearing Sharon’s dog tags as a finishing touch to the outfit and also because she’s my favourite. Mostly I just wanted an excuse to enjoy the nice weather and ham it up in this fabulous shirt which I absolutely recommend getting if you’re a BSG fan! I love the cut of it, especially the neckline, and I think it’s a great yet fairly subtle little way to show your love for the show.
Shhh… There are many copies… and they have a plan. (Don’t worry, I’m not a Cylon.)
