It’s that time of year again when Bria heads off to Awesome Con in Washington DC. As usual, she’s got a full schedule of costumes and even a panel lined up for the weekend!
Afternoon: It’s not quite a costume but if you see Bria looking suspiciously like Shorelle’s Anakin Skywalker… yeah.
Late Afternoon/Evening: Time to suit up as everyone’s new favorite assassin!
Morning/Afternoon: Keep an eye out for the Emperor’s Hand…
In the afternoon, you can catch Bria on a panel! Rampant Speculation in a Galaxy Far, Far Away at 4:15 pm in Room 149. It’ll be an hour filled with Star Wars craziness and there will also be giveaways. ;)
All Day: Time to end the convention strong with a stalwart padawan learner
Paging all Trekkies! ThinkGeek recently debuted their brand new Trekini Swimwear line. Inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation, the three pieces all draw obvious inspiration from the uniforms of the show. There’s a Deanna Troi swim shirt, a cover up romper, and three different versions of a one piece swimsuit in operations gold, science blue, and uhhhh… do the same rules apply when it’s a Red Swimsuit or is that just for Red Shirts? Enjoy the perks of command while you can?
Either way, ThinkGeek has definitely put together a trim little line that all Trekkies in need of new swimwear for the summer should check out!
It’s no secret that The Force Awakens turned me into a loyal supporter of the First Order so buying this dress was a total no-brainer. It helps that I really love the new stormtrooper design and the lines were beautifully translated by Kelly Cercone.
For sizing reference, Bria is 5’6 and wearing a Small.
A couple of notes since some folks have asked for my thoughts on the dress. It definitely runs true to the sizing chart and does not have any stretch to it so make sure you take a look before you order. It’s a nice thick fabric so you don’t have to worry about the white being see through but the scuba wasn’t quite as nice feeling as I’d hoped. I suspect that was a compromise to get the pattern printed on it and keep the costs down. The leather accents are nicely done but the cold shoulder sleeve does not have a lot of give to it. Unfortunately, this won’t be a dress that I can wear to help out with the 501st because it restricts my upper arm movements enough to make it tricky to help someone with chest armor.
Oh yeah… and it has pockets! It’s definitely a super cute dress and I’m glad that I got it. I look forward to wearing it to plenty of conventions in the future.
Happy birthday, Imaizumi! Let’s dress up and celebrate with a sweet Sohoku surprise.
(So Imaizumi has these like, noodle arms, and one time he yanked this dude by the hair because dude was badmouthing a teammate and I think I laughed for ten minutes straight. Bike anime is great, bike anime is shounen sports that always feels bigger that what it is, bike anime is S3 finally.)
(Me, always with the ride and die.)
